Musicfesto (Ah, ah?!)

Well would ya look at that.
SO DO I.
The internet is full of blogs about new artists, new albums, quirky gigs in dingy pubs. It seems the more obscure your topic, the better. There seems to be a music culture emerging where unless you know the name and complete discography of every up and coming obscure indie band, you’re out of the loop.
I’m not saying the people who write these blogs aren’t fully entitled to. But they are not entitled to look down their musically closed-minded noses at other bloggers for mentioning the cast of Glee a little too often. Just as they are entitled to write what they want, as am I, and everyone else for that matter.
I am a music lover. I don’t feel I have to justify my taste in music to anyone. I just like to write about music and the people who make it. I make no apologies for how frequently I might mention Justin Timberlake. I like cheesy old love songs and power ballads. What of it?
Don’t be ashamed of what music you love, just be happy that you found something you love to listen to. I ask two things: Ignore the music snobs. And read the blog religiously. :)

I LOVE IT
Keep up the great articles Aisling.
And, check out this version of Gimme Shelter by Merry Clayton:
She’s the orgasmic voice on the Rolling Stones version :)
An iconic ideo too.
Peace!!
I positively think it’s the best thing since chocolate croissants (bread is so last year!)
love the articles, love you more! xxx
It’s rare that blogs are actually interesting so it’s about time I read one without falling asleep. well done.
Keep up the good musical work – blogs are our future after all (hmm)
good shout on M.I.A – I was doing the moves in my head coz I don’t want to be fired for being the token weird dancing girl of the office.
They wouldn’t know I was reliving copious nights out. They don’t know! They weren’t there!!
As Dermot O’Leary would say, “Lovin’ your work.”
